Strenghtening that back line

8 January 2007

Chelsea captain John Terry and goalkeeper Petr Cech will soon be back from injury to add strenght and character to our backline.

Thank God for that. Of the two the most sorely missed has been Petr because he commands that six yard box so well and imposes himself in the goal area that attackers are not composed when presented with a chance against him. So many goals have been let in from inside the six yard box which makes you realize the importance of Petr

Barcelona 2 Chelsea FC 2

3 November 2006

The return leg of the much awaited clash between the “True Blues” of Stamford Bridge and the Catalan giants in Nou Camp lived up to its billing as “The One To Watch!!!”

Chelsea already with 9 points from first 3 matches which included a win against Barca at the Bridge feeling very confident going into this match, it was Barca who shot to the lead inside 3 minutes by Deco. The game was soon to degenerate into an intense atmoshere maybe greater than that felt even at the heigth of the rivalry between Man U and Arsenal with Roy Keane and Viera present.

The number of yellow cards dished was into double figures. Even the media and supporters got into a frenzy thinking that Cole has picked up a 2nd yellow card when the first was meant for Lampard who misses the next game.
Lampard also scored an incredible goal from an almost impossible angle with Gudjohnson equalising after Ronaldihno has made a rare fantastic run.

Drogba who showed his passion and different sides yet in a Chelsea shirt was involved in lots of jostling and shoving and capped awonderful evening with a fantastic goal in injury time.

Goalkeeping Tragedy

15 October 2006

Chelsea lost two of its goalkeepers to injuries yesterday in its premiership match against Reading. First it was Petr Chec our first choice goalkeeper who got stretchered off after an injury he received in the very first minute of the game and in the dying minutes of injury time,…………

we also lost his replacement Cudicini. it was the injury to cudicini which looked worse but Petr Chec has since undergone surgery for a fracture to his skull which threathens his professional career as a footballer. We wish these two goalkeepers prompt recovery

Didier Drogba - Our Hero?

26 September 2006

Drogba, the big man draws different kinds of reactions from people, friends and foes alike.

    Overpriced
    Team Player
    Cheater
    Loyal
    Diver
    Fantastic Striker

Whatever you think about this great man, one thing that stands out for me is his work ethic and his honesty.

He has taken criticisms under his belt and is stronger for it. He scores great goals, provides unbelivable assists and you know what also defends; what a player!

Levski Sofia’s big night

26 September 2006

Chelsea FC goes into the Champions League away fixture with Levski Sofia needing all three points at stake.

Despite losing 5-0 to Barcelona, the Bulgarians would come out fired in front of their home fans. The match have been moved from their home ground to their National Stadium.

It is very important for Chelsea FC to come out of this tie with maximum points before going into the double header with Barcelona.

John Terry is included in the squad although Joe Cole who is still recuperating from his injury has been left out!
