John Terry as new England Captain
12 August 2006“We want to win things for our country,”
“We have got the most passionate fans in the world and that is something I want to bring to the team.
“I’ve been given a once in a lifetime opportunity and I am going to make the most of that. I am going to do things my way. I have learnt from a lot of captains; David [Beckham] was a fantastic captain, and I’ve had great captains at club level that I’ve taken bits from and put into my game. With all that together I can hopefully make a great captain for England.”
What a great Captain he will be!

Is Terry the ideal captain for England? I think the coach has shown us a sign of how hot headed and uncalculating that he can be. He is selecting Terry based on his performance in one world cup final. There are many players in England who have served longer than he (Terry) and who are much more capable

Number of caps won is not a criteria for selecting a Captain but ability amongst leadership capabilities and leading by example is an absolute must!
Even if you don’t like Chelsea FC, you must agree that John Terry has got all these in abundance.
