Goalkeeping Tragedy
15 October 2006Chelsea lost two of its goalkeepers to injuries yesterday in its premiership match against Reading. First it was Petr Chec our first choice goalkeeper who got stretchered off after an injury he received in the very first minute of the game and in the dying minutes of injury time,…………
we also lost his replacement Cudicini. it was the injury to cudicini which looked worse but Petr Chec has since undergone surgery for a fracture to his skull which threathens his professional career as a footballer. We wish these two goalkeepers prompt recovery
Peter Osgood - Goodbye to a Chelsea Great
3 October 2006The greatest honour a club can bestow on a Player was conferred on Peter Osgood on Sunday Oct 1 with his ashes buried under the penalty spot.
It had started with the Chelsea Pensioners forming a guard of honour and the Coldstream Guards providing the music as Ossie entered the arena in his traditional way, behind captain Ron Harris and goalkeeper Peter Bonetti, but for this last time carried in a blue urn by widow Lynn with two of his sons, Anthony and Darren.

Chelsea dropped points at home for the first time this season at Stamford Bridge with Aston Villa running away with a 1-1 score draw.
Aston Villa came into the game only wanting a draw but I’m sure would have been glad to bag all three points as hinted by Martin O’Neil. Juan Pablo Angel could have scored rather than hit the side netting. Though he conceded that it would have been harsh on Chelsea.
