An Early Warning
23 August 2006Our loss to Middlesborough in a mid-week clash in the premiership should be seen as a real warning. It is a rude awakening to the facts on hand. Did we make enough real quality purchases this season? We should have taken the loss to Liverpool in the Community Shield last week as a sign of things to come…
Teams are no longer looking at us in awe. I real good and commanding performance in the next few games will stop help us from sliding into the sort of woeful performance that Arsenal put up last season

20 August 2006What an opening day to the Premiership!
Goals, lots of goals, controversy and more controversy!
Reading made their Premiership debut with a dogged win over a Middlesborough side with Gareth Southgate making his own debut as a manager. 3-2 it ended to the newcomers who had to come from a 2 goal deficit to claim victory.
Sheffield United made a statement of intent in their 1-1 draw with Liverpool FC with a dubious penalty awarded to Gerald with the Referee claiming “intent to trip” as an offence! So how do you make a tackle if it could be interpreted as an intent.
Kanu could have made it a hat-trick of headers as Pompey sank a Blackburn side reduced to 9-men. Harry “Houdini” Redknapp is at his magic again.
West Ham beat a Charlton side reduced to 10 men 3-1, would the result have been different otherwise? I do not know but I do know for sure that West Ham and indeed Charlton will play good football this season.
Aston Villa could have made it a misery night for Arsenal on the “debut” of their new Emirates stadium! O’Neil made his Premiership debut as Aston Villa Manager.
It struck me that Spurs tipped for the top 4/5 finish this season might indeed struggle, on paper they looked much stronger than Big Sam’s Bolton, but the Reebok continues to haunt them as they lost 2-0.
Andy Johnson made his Everton debut with a wonder goal that on second sight could only be classed a fluke. This game produced the greatest controversy of the day with a goal awarded for a ball striking a player’s head! When will the “hawkeye” technology going to be introduced. Eveton 2 Watford 1.
The Toon army should still be in the footballer’s heaven following a win over Wigan. It ended Newcastle FC 2 Wigan 1
Day 2: Sunday
Manchester United showed why they are considered the closest opposition to twart Chelsea FC’s aspiration to retain the Premiership crown for a third successive time by over running Fulham to record a 5-1 victory. It also showed that Rooney’s and Ronaldo’s feud will not affect their contributions to their club.
Chelsea FC kicked off with Man Utd’s results already confirmed, so it was important not to take our feet off the pedal. John Terry and Lampard continued where they left off in the England vs. Greece match by recording another 1,2 score sequence. Drogba rounded off with what would be considered the best goal of the season so far. Long live the Champions.
Aston Villa’s “Abramovich” to the rescue!
14 August 2006American billionaire Randy Lerner is set to take control of Aston Villa, after winning the battle to buy the Midlands club.
Chelsea FC acquired by Roman Abramovich has since won back to back Premiership Championships and has been critised in a rather petty fashion by other oponents and their sour supporters!
Now Aston Villa is in the same position, would they be put on the rack? Because they have suddenly discovered they could do things that would help them on the long run if they play their cards right.
They have also appointed a Coach who in his own right could be tagged “Ze Special One”! If money and vision is all the ingredients required for success then they still have a long way to go before they can compete in the same class as Chelsea!
It is always very important for everyone to understand the duties and invariably place in an organisation. If Randy Lerner interferes anyway other than financially in the running of the Club then they would fail terribly.
What they really need is someone in the mould of a Professional Football Administrator, someone that understands the simple things that make a successful club tick, willing to take the fall for any important part of their system, able to forge relationships even lie when required, someone who has been around the Premiership circuit.
Chelsea played it smart they got Kenyon but who will Aston Villa go for? Can he do the job and maybe those snide hooligans would shut up and appreciate the job that everyone at Chelsea is doing. From Club owner through to match day stewards.

Battle 1: Can we win the war?
13 August 2006Chelsea suffered defeat to Liverpool in a match that they truely deserved to lose! Maybe this loss is not really a bad thing but a blessing in disguise. It has shown a lot about the fact that Chelsea at the moment is not playing as a team, the timing is still off! It goes to show that some fringe players would still remain so while glaring deficiencies would have to be corrected before the season gets underway
- We need an extra striker. What with Crespo gone and super subs Duff and Eidur also gone the traditonal strikers we have are Drogba and Shevchenko, were we to lose any more to injury we would often be left with a mountain to climb when we really need to score more goals! Of course Cole is already injured Wright-Phillips would have to do a lot better to be considered.
- I think it is important for the same reason to ensure that Gallas stays and that we ensure that we do all we possibly can to lure Ashely Cole here. Chelsea’s defence last season was mean that ensured confidence to allow the other players be creative. Even at the cost of being tagged unentertaining, the best form of attack remains defence!
Liverpool 1 Chelsea 0, thank God it happened now, hopefully we will go away having learnt our lessons and come the start of the new season get down to business as usual.

13 August 2006Buy any Chelsea Player and get Michael Ballack free. He is just an absolute waste of good funds. He is the most injury prone footballer in the history of injury proneness
A player that played only one full game for Germany in the world cup because he is too old, unfit and injured should not cost so much. Do Jose, Abramovich and the other so called technical people in Chelsea not know this? For £130,000.00 my aged grandmother will make more impact in a football field and she will not go limping out due to an injury suffered without any contact from any other player.

13 August 2006In the last 2 seasons, Chelsea FC have played Liverpool FC more than any other team.
Is this going to be another like those?
Beating Liverpool is going to be enjoyable for me but not nearly as enjoyable as when they do realise that no matter what they do, they do not have half a prayer of getting close to Chelsea! Yes they might be more succesful in Europe, so what?
Eventually we will pip them to eternal glory, if you know what I mean.
Anyway back to reality, we will pip them today and during our league meetings and indeed any match they get drawn against us, “boy, they have no prayer”
John Terry as new England Captain

Joe Cole Injury Update
9 August 2006Official Site has reported that Joe Cole’s injury may not be as bad as originally feared.
The player who had since taken off the brace moves on his own and we all pray that he shakes off this slight setback and help shoot Chelsea Football Club to more glory.
