Separating The Boys From The Men
30 July 2006Frank Lampard writing in his autobiography laid bare the story behind the News of the World scoop on him and other Pals while doing what most men on holiday do!
This also reminds us of another exemplary character who was also involved in an indiscretion and learnt that it is better to teach others lessons on the pitch than outside.
He is widely acclaimed as an exemplary leader of men!
What better reward to John Terry than for the new England Manager to hand him the Skipper’s arm band. Come Maclaren, just do it!
Shevchenko Unveiled
29 July 2006Shevchenko has revealed that he would probably end his playing days at Chelsea. Speaking on Chelsea’s visit to the USA gave an insight into what pushes him. He has only ever played for two clubs and was very happy at both Places. We definitely believe that he can excel in his new club.
He has revealed that it is the words of Lobanovsky that inspire him to meet the Chelsea challenge.
He told me it is very difficult in life to reach a certain level of excellence but it is even more difficult to remain there at that high level of excellence. So I have lived every second of the day of my life with the philosophy that I need to maintain that level. This is the motivation I have.
23 Days to go
27 July 2006According to premierleague.com’s count down to the beginning of the Season, 23 is the record number of assists in one season.
It belongs to Arsenal’s Thierry Henry while scoring one more himself!
Again I have to stress that the prowess of one man is far inferior to that of the whole Squad working together whether in attack or defence!
25 Days to new Season
25 July 2006The official Barclays Premierleague website features a count down to the start of a new Season with the remaining days denoting a stat.
25 days => The number of clean sheets in a Season set by Chelsea FC in 2004/2005.
Cool
All work and no play
24 July 2006I have been caught up with work on developing this blog. I’m happy that it is coming along nicely. It is nice to work on varied themes all the time
Design the blog theme, code a widget, write an entry post and of course promote the blog. Sometimes you forget that it is Summer buried in work thinking …
I’m preparing to work cann’t throw a “Sickie”, work for myself! My laptop goes in my bag, picked up a hamper that has been packed with care not forgeting the other items, I hurried to the Battersea park where I have a “working date”. I laid out the picnic nicely and dug into work and my brunch!
The morals of the story?
Don’t we all envy Footballers who kick a ball around like everyone else throwing a sickie on a nice warm day to play in the Park or should I say a Stadium and not have an angry boss threatening not to pay.
Need I say more!
Footbal Tickets
23 July 2006Can not wait for the new Season to begin.
I find myself counting down the days even the hours.
Which matches do I watch on TV and which do I have to fork out to watch my beloved play.

Premiership Clubs and Business Management
20 July 2006Everyone understands that football is big business.
No other industry can boast of the level of renumeration packages to their employees as the football industry.
So it shames me sometimes to think about how badly some clubs actually takes care of their businesses and assets. To put my arguement into perspective, we all know what a well presented website does for its owners. Please take out a moment to visit websites of the team you support and maybe a few others. You will understand while teams like Chelsea FC, Man U, Arsenal etc tend to do better
What does it mean to be a “True Blue”?
19 July 2006Is it holding a Season Ticket year in, year out? Definitely not!
Is it buying Club merchadise or telling a Gunner how much we love Chelsea? Probably not.
It is knowing like the Manager does that we are united in the belief that to conquer we have to be one with each other. We all have a part to play in the march to success.
The Players are confident in their abilities afterall they are the best in the business! The Manager has absolute faith in his team and makes sure that they understand what is expected of them and trusts the management from Kenyon down to match Stewards and up to Club Owner Abramovich to deliver resources needed to get the best from the Team.
The home Supporters and everyone who hold Chelsea dear to their hearts play their part in giving REAL support to the team knowing that the team understands that winning is paramount.
So to answer my question,
being a True Blue means wanting to win trophies with Chelsea! No matter what anyone might want or even when the team plays poorly, we want to win, scrape through if necessary.
Football - Chelsea - Abramovich - Money
18 July 2006“They” say
“Chelsea is succesful only because of Abramovich’s Millions”
“They” forget that before Abramovich, Footballers are often paid up to 100,000.00 GBP Per Week and more! These are vast amounts that even the most industrious among us do not even earn in a 2-year period!
Yet when “They” are hungry they go out to eat the best food money can buy. “They” want to live in posh mansions, drive very good and exotic cars, send their kids to the best Schools, “They” actually work hard to actualise their dreams all of which is MONEY based and yet
“They” complain that Chelsea is making good use of available resources
When “They” only have themselves to blame afterall how many players can Chelsea buy? or are there only enough Footballers for a SQUAD?
They are simply covering up the fact that they are not making good use of resources available to them!
